Sunflowers

from $5.00

In spring 2022, Ukrainian refugees fled to find new homes in many countries.. The sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine. In this painting, the sunflowers have been cut off from their base, uprooted in a sense, and put into a place they may never have chosen for themselves. The vase is decorated with a fish representing Christianity. The painting is to honor those who have been uprooted and repositioned for the sake of the Gospel.

This painting was created during a live painting session at Joplin Family Worship Center in Joplin, MO. It was sent to on a mission trip to Ukraine a few weeks after the initial crisis. It now rests in its new home with a pastor in that area.
