Love Never Fails
I painted this one live during a women’s conference, and tidied it up later. I started the painting with a black background, and I made a rope out of an old t-shirt. I wrote words on the rope that were the opposite of love, mostly using the opposite of 1 Corinthians 13—impatience, unkindness, etc. I wrapped the rope around the canvas, and I painted the heart underneath. During an intense moment in the worship service, I cut the rope. I painted the banner and wrote, “Love never fails.” While I was painting the banner, a speaker was talking about putting boundaries into place with her child. The banner is a symbol of the boundaries that God gives us, which allow us to receive His love in a tangible way.
